ABOUT US

A BRIEF HISTORY

In the early 90’s a small group of Muslims initiated the idea of setting up a school with an Islamic ethos. The intention was to promote understanding of the Islamic faith while also fully covering the national curriculum and keeping the doors open to all ethnicities and faiths.

In 1994 late Basheer Ebrahim, the principal funder and developer, secured around 60 acres of land on McMeekan Road, Milton Park and construction began. The vision, vigour and zeal was palpable and the primary school was completed about 4 years later. Today there are 18 classrooms, a hall, a library and computer block, a swimming pool, tennis courts, large grounds for soccer, hockey and cricket and a car park.

At the inception of our school, the first headmaster, Mr M.I.Hassan wrote in the school magazine (Vol. 1 Issue 2, 1998) that it was his hope that the learners would “Strive to Succeed” in attaining a high level of integrity, diligence, self-discipline and productivity and that they would be dedicated to the service of humankind. That was his hope then, and it remains our hope today.

THE CURRICULUM

Our school is careful to ensure full coverage of the curriculum. Measures are taken to continue with the provision of educatiion during pandemic or lockdown periods by undertaking distance learning online and providing workpacks if necessary. Parents are encouraged to take full advantage of this to avoid any loss in their children’s learning.

Staff

We always try to maintain a dedicated, resilient and adaptable compliment of staff who are amenable to change and educational advancement.

Standards & Behaviour

High principles and standards of behaviour and dress are maintained. Learners are expected to wear their uniforms smartly, maintain good grooming, maintain simple hairstyles and practice good manners at all times.

Distance Learning Online

Our motto “To Strive is to Succeed” is a driving force as we continue to teach through pandemics and lockdowns. Our learners, who have the help of supportive parents and guardians, navigate through lockdowns to achieve our educational objective of covering the curriculum.
